What is DMAE Bitartrate?

DMAE Bitartrate (Dimethylaminoethanol) is a naturally occurring compoundand a precursor of choline. DMAE is found in foods, such as anchovies and sardines, but more recently DMAE Bitartrate has become a popular dietary supplement. Its popularity may be explained by the effects DMAE Bitartrate has on the levels of acetylcholine, which is a primary neurotransmitter associated with learning and memory.1

Therefore, by taking DMAE Bitartrate users can optimize the production of this important neurotransmitter and subsequently improve a number of cognitive functions. DMAE Bitartrate may also have the ability to reduce build-up of the “age pigment”, which impairs cognitive function.

Key benefits:

  • Enhanced focus
  • Increased learning capacity
  • Improved memory

Mechanisms of action:

DMAE Bitartrate acts by enhancing the synthesis and release of the acetylcholine neurotransmitter.

Recommended dosage:

The recommended daily dosage is between 250 – 500 mg. The peak levels of DMAE Bitartrate are reported around 1 hour after oral administration.

Side effects:

DMAE Bitartrate is a safe supplement. However, some users may experience a slight stimulatory effect, so it is important not to exceed the recommended dose.
